There wasn't much new in blincoln's strategy, it essentially just described current policy and what the us. Is currently doing in the region. What i assume will come later in a document form, beyond the fact sheet that was relaced by the state department, is that it represents incromentalism above all else. And so this is just, to me, further confirmation of how hemmed in the white house is by domestic politics and declining relative power. But i don't think anybody should be surprised. Strikingly, bold strategic policy is just not in this administration's d and a, and no one should have expected it.
