Is There a Morally Responsible Action?
David Frum: I think even incompatible ist believers in free will have to say there are at least some cases where we don't have any control over our constitutions and yet we're responsible for acting from them. He argues that if responsibility goes off the ground, there's going to be a first morally responsible action. And so these manipulated agents are going to be morally responsible despite failing to satisfy conditions like historical fishers or others. So historicism is false he says; it's not case that moral responsibility is essentially historical.
