I often think that one way to make friendships be successful is to recognize their limitations. If you have a sense of what the other person's capabilities are, you can then build something quite beautiful together. I also wonder if the nature of friendship is such that it's it can bring up the virtuous side in you and you can engage in ideas with your friend. But maybe it can also make you do bad things because you have this friend,. You might back their decisions that are bad for them or bad for others. And so maybe friendship has a vicious character too.
