The Problem With Instable Deposit Bases

Silicon Valley Bank, I believe, owned over $100 billion of agency-market-backed securities. They bought them when reads were their lowest because their deposits too close to tripled. It's still kind of a one-off where there are other other banks that may have this issue. If the securities put in something called holds a maturity, that means you have both the intention and the ability to hold it to maturity.
