The Condescending Attitude of the Peace Corps
The Peace Corps is a type of nonprofit, but I think the reason it's so dangerous is because again, it's like a government institution. It reminds me very much of the cult of nonprofits. And that condescending attitude does translate into other aspects of the Peace Corps as well. The people who decide to stay for years and decades think they are like the lords of the Peace corps.
