The Bolton Strid

The Bolton Strid has a 100% mortality rate. Local legend says no one who's entered the waters here ever comes out alive. A 19-year-old girl, Miss Poole from London, fell into the river in 1828. An easel and a sketching pad were recovered from a boulder in the center of the stream.
