In your book, you say that the philosophers got here first. What does it mean to exist by itself is a very hard notion to pin point? We may think that it exists, but it has no act whatsoever. If we base physics on this idea, namely, that to exist is to interact, then suddenly i think quanto mechanics make sense. The key point is not to assume that there are non relational properties.
