The Challenge of Recognizing Your Vocation

I think pastors, they do have this remarkable challenge because so often pastors tend to think of the people in their congregations as sort of the unrenewable resource. That we have to mine out and then put into place to build the church. And really quickly, we sort of strip people in our congregation of anything but the skill set that we can leverage within our services,. What was striking to me as a visitor? What about the congressmen, senators? We had one astronaut then, they were sitting on their hands; their work was completely unrecognized.
