The Double Connotation of a Pire
In Mahayana Buddhism we find that a pire has a double connotation. It has in the wind hand the method by which the enlightened mind teaches the Dharma. So like the lotus growing out of the mud it actually grows towards the sun and opens towards the sun. A pire is also the seventh parimeter. We're often taught and familiar with the six parimeters, six perfections or perfecting virtues as Bantila liked to translate it. He was very adamant when he gave me my name which is Parami Paramita. Excuse me. I think in terms of us as a Sangha it's important to see how both those elements are involved in our teaching
