The Irish Social Contract and the Homeownership Rate
In 2011 there was a homeownership rate of 70%, and that has gone down to 66% in 2022. It's quite uncomfortable for Finnegal in particular, given that they are the party that prioritizes homeownership. I think so much of this is born from the financial crash and the property bubble,. But it really all comes down to this issue of supply and housing. There are really next to no properties available, and there are massive queues around the block.
