I do think that what we see are some tactical changes, certain areas where you see the Chinese trying to maneuver into sort of breathing space or less tension. But even then surprises can throw things off such as the the spy balloon over the United States. I don't think the senior Chinese elite planned that expected it and then had to deal with it. And I think have not dealt with it very effectively. It seems to me that we're just one step away from some countries kind of pulling back to the center of gravity on their relationship with China.
