When Roe became the law of the land in 1973, the right had nothing to say about it. It wasn't until six years later when they lost their last legal appeal that they said, well, we need a new issue. So they lobbied among clergy to change the biblical definition of life beginning at first breath to life beginning at conception. They have bastardized religion for politics, which shouldn't matter since the United States is not a theocracy. The founding principle of this country is that you get to live as you want and believe what you believe.
