Aquinas' Argument for the Multiplication of Separated Human Souls
This argument first appears in Aquinas' work, starting with Book II of the Suma Contra Gentiles. In this text, Aquinas starts off by denying that every difference in form causes a difference in species. And then he extends this analysis to the separated human soul. Thus, a multiplicity of souls follows upon a certain diversity of form according to substance.
