The Lowest Interest Rates in 4000 Years
The last time there was a proper bond bear market that began in 1946 ended in 1981, at the aforementioned 15% yield. It took 10 years for the benchmark security to go from two and a quarter to three and a quarter, 10 years. And this time around, that same benchmark security is up eightfold in less than a year. So I feel as if I've made a 50 or 60 year round trip.
