In 19 64, harvard psychologist timothy leary wrote an adaptation of the ancient tibetan book of the dead. The psychodelic experience was written as a tool to guide people who chose to go on eliste trips. While tripping and reading doctor leary's book, john recorded himself as he drifted away into his psychodelick experience. This inspired him to try and capture an ellisty experience in a song. And then i wrote to morrow never knows, which was almost the first acid song,. lay down all thought, surrender to the void and all that ship, which leary had pinched from the book of the debt. Pi. I
