The Importance of Job Design
It struck me that actually job design was something that is often neglected. It's the job design for every level in the organization. We have just been struck by how middle managers, unit managers, assistant managers have been buried with so much workload. Taking hard choices about job design and sometimes limiting range really struck me as a definite lesson that's applicable outside the world of face-to-face service and retail and care.
