Getting Rid of Police Shootings in America
The US is a huge country, the third largest in the world by population. That means that extremely low probability events such as police shooting or lightning strikes will happen much more frequently here than they do elsewhere. If america were the size of canada, but otherwise identical, about six unarmed people would have been killed by the police last year instead of 55. So long as we're a gun country, American police will always be liable to mistake a suspect's wallet or smart phone for a gun. And we won't be able to completely legislate that fear away, at least not completely.
