The Theory of Temperature Induced Amnesia
The temperature induced amnesia was actually Kubaki's own theory. The only thing I can think of is what mountain climbers suffer from loss of body heat and exhaustion. That combination can result in a temporary loss of memory. It's possible that as a senior about to graduate, Kubaki was under a lot of pressure and perhaps encountered trouble during his heat trip. Ongoing stress compiled with this new found stress could have caused it.
