The Divine Image of Dagon
In Exodus 3 we have Moses at Horeb and verse 2 it says the messenger of Adonai appeared to him in the flame of fire in a burning bush. And then the rest of the chapter has God themselves speaking. It seems that Moses is engaging with this messenger but this individual this entity in verse 6 says I am the God of your fathers. The narrative seemed to kind of go back and forth very much like what we would expect with a discussion about divine images from outside biblical Israel.
