Leslie Whittle was kidnapped from her home in Shropshire on January 14th, 1975. The only way to get her back was via a payment of £50,000 which had to be made at a payphone near the Swan Shopping Center that evening. Her family waited until 1am on January 16th to make the phone call and collect the full cash amount. But they were then ordered to retrieve a second message stuck behind the payphone's backboard or their daughter would suffer a terrible fate.
