What's Happening in the Pensions Market?
The value of the matching assets which are fixed rate bonds, index link bonds has also gone up. A fixed rate bond that pays 5% when the market rate is 3% will be worth more than par. And overall according to PWC again a deficit on these 5500 schemes of £600 billion has turned into a surplus of £155 billion so in theory they should be quite happy shouldn't they all?
