How Do You Write a Take Notes Strategy?

When I was taking notes, I would try to limit it to like eight words per paragraph because you don't want to take too long taking notes. So my strategy was kind of whenever I had finished or almost finished a paragraph, I'd try to sort of summarize it as simply as I could in my head. Like, obviously depends on what the passage is about, but I wouldtry to summarize it like children are being poisoned by, I don't know, dirt in the environment and the people are trying to stop it. Something like that, you know?
