The Risk Factors for Nocardia in Solid Oxygen Transplant Patients

Noccardia seems to have affinity for the brain and due to the tropism there are a predominant number of cases in solid organ transplant that have disseminated nocardial infections. The primary side of infection is the lung, you inhale it so that's why it's going straight to your lung. And in some cases there is cutaneous involvement, either alone or with isolated trauma. Grotum culture is a must to help in diagnosis. But remember like other stem cell transplants, eukemics, lymphoma, patients receiving monoclonal antibodies like rutoxumab and flicksumab, they are also at risk for n Cardia.
