Why Adjuncts Don't Have Tenyur
There are three times more doctoral degrees awarded in the humanities than there are faculty positions. Adjuncts, they don't have tenyur. They can be fired at any time. There is this sense of martyrdom in academia where it's almost like frowned upon to want to make a good living. This is making us think of non profits but also kind of making me think of a pyramid scheme.
