The Moral Relevance of Distance and Psychological Salient
To do the amount of good equivalent to saving a life, I think it's seven and a half thousand dollars to strictly speaking save a life now. Distance or psychological salient really does make a morally relevant difference. Some people even go further and argue that there's just not a distinction between acts and emissions at all. And therefore that failing- Failing and failing to act are morally equivalent.
