The Impact of the Floods on Australia

I think that we have disaster fatigue now, and if these events are going to get more and more common, then what's going to happen is... I remember with the bushfires, which had only been sort of a year or two before then, there was this real idea of everyone in Australia was in this together. We all went through something that, when the floods happened up here, there was a moment where it captured some sort of a national attention. Whereas for here... Yeah. There's no chopper footage of this. You can't fly over these people's devastated lives and get amazing footage of them standing on their roofs. But now they are more at risk than they ever were
