The Essence of Deliberate Practice
Many people think that the way to get better is to do more of something, hit more balls and spend more time. In deliberate practice it's not necessarily about more but focusing on what you need to improve your game. It may mean doing less recreational golf with your bodies or reflecting on weaknesses in your current game. And then at spending time that isn't necessarily recreation - such as having a cold beverage before each session -- learning requires mental effort.
