The Fire in London
The fire is absolutely devastating in that regard. As you say, the homelessness, the refugee camps, these are all things that we're familiar with in modern times. And this is what's happening in London in the 1660s and attempts to create relief funds. One of those that we ought to talk about is Thomas Fariner, the baker in whose shop the fire had begun. He lived out the rest of his days and the business passed to his son afterwards. So he faced no consequences for the fire at all - a stark difference to Robert Hubert and the many that were blamed for it as a kind of proxy of a people's rage.
