The Independent State Legislator Theory, Right?

The independent state legislature theory means there is a total lack of oversight of state legislative election schemes. State constitutional bans on gerrymandering could be completely wiped out under the theory. If a state legislature is unhappy with how an election official has conducted their duty, they could refuse to certify the results of a presidential election and instead select its own slate of electors. The bottom line is that state legislatures will have much more power to engage in voter suppression of all types.
