Do Black Boxes Really Work?

The question was, you want to speak out, but for whatever reason, producing your documentation would put you or someone else in harm's way. So i would take the documentation, read it through a p t f reader, and just put black boxes over whatever you want to protect for that person. Would that work? I'm just thinking no, that was my first thought. And then i thought of that story a couple of years ago at the new york times, where there was stuff that was, that was blocked out, and then, ah, they were able to like immediately go and and like undo the block and the word documents and find all the redacted information.
