I find it quite fascinating, looking at the history of these s. Even before they were immersive, even before they were matrix like, you could get lost in a computer generated world. Andn what does that tell about either the human imagination or the human susceptibility to want to be able to navigate spaces that are distinct from the ones we physically inhabit? My own first virtual world was actually one of those text based virtual worlds, a colossal cave adventure back in 19 76, when i was ten years old.
