Some some thinkers are sort of contrarian by their nature, right? And being a contrarian is kind of part of their brand. If they were found too much to cohere and agree with a group of people too much, they would think they had betrayed that principle. I identify with that last one in that you have to be disagreeing with people in order to get them to refute you.
