The Different Stages of Spiritual Growth in the West

Waking up is what we traditionally associate with meditation schools of development like Zen or Vedanta. It's not simply how we intellectual about spirit, it's direct spiritual experiences. This component is said to go through a series also of stages. In this case, generally in the West, religion faces two major problems. One is at a relatively low level or stage of spiritual growing up. The other is mostly still stuck at a stage called mythic literal.
