Sherlock holmes met doctor James mortimer at charing cross hospital. Mortimer was a medical officer for the parishes of grimpin torsley, high boro. He had left his job in London to make a home and start a consulting practice. When he saw sherlock's stick on the table he ran towards it with an exclamation of joy. The two men were soon chatting away about their respective lives. But then Holmes said: 'I would not lose that stick for the world'
