The Unionization of the Graduate Student Teaching Assistants

When I was a graduate student in the late 1980s, I opposed the unionization of the graduate student teaching assistants on the grounds that it was a mentor-mentee relation between professor and grad student assistant. But as higher ed became more and more transparent dependent upon army of proletarian teachers...I changed my view  and think I now support unionization of those who carry the burden of a great deal of teaching at university context paid ridiculously low wages.
