The Ducks and the Battle of the Cliff
The problem for them was is that the navel bombardment had filled the rocky beach uh with massive craters. That meant that the ducks couldn't close with the ladders close to the cliff because of these obstructions. So they had no recourse but the wave around in the surf and and try and engage the Germans from there. "It's such an unexpected assault that um it succeeded"
