The Role of the CBC in the Selection of Officers for the CBI
The Vinit Narayan case did try to correct a lot of things. One of the things that did was ensuring certain independence in the appointment of CBI director. Other aspect was bringing CB under the purview of central vigilance commission since 2003. The overall decline in the accountability of various institutions has hit the CBC as well, he says.
