The Battle for the Sky

In early 1915, French pilot Roland Garros puts his bullet deflecting idea at use and down as many as three to five German aircraft in a matter of weeks. The Germans get better than that, though, from young Anthony Fauker who perfects the idea of synchronizing spinning propellers and machine guns. In early 1916, they take one of the newest models of French biplanes, the French Neopo 11, or Le Bebe, and mount a Lewis machine gun on its upper set of wings. This novel work around levels the playing field for Allied aviators. Finally, they'll no longer be Fauker Fauter.
