Vedantic meditation is the absolute clarity of what I am. Awareness neither runs ahead nor goes back to the past, it's the mind which is doing it. From that perspective of Atma or Brahman, none of this really matters. You are perfectly fine without the appearance of the universe. But you don't depend on it. It's like a magic show. Magic show exists happily without the magic show. But the magic show cannot exist without the magician. Unfortunately, you tend to get trapped in your own magic.
