i think, as humans in general, were not good at acknowledging when we're not so free. And americans in particular suck at this. We want to be like because i chose ite. Well, how do you know how much make up you would be wearing if you grew up in a culture where women weren't treated this way? You don't know what that would feel like. Maybe it's comforting to think that it's entirely free, that you're doing it for you. But then we need take that second step and say, well, why is it making you feel more confident? What is the world doing to you that that's where we get our confidence, exactly?
