The deflation is much, much, much worse than inflation. It's incredibly bad for growth. You need a little bit of inflation in order to keep growth going. If you have defilation, then the economy just kind of grinds slowly to a halt. No one wants to buy anything ever, because they'd be better off just waiting for it to get cheaper.
