The Gut Brain Axis

There is a known principle that's really deeply studied now in urology, in neuroscience, called the gut brain axis. You can actually profoundly affect disease and the condition of the brain by changing the gut biome. Saccharin and sucralose in particular drive up your blood glucose and makes it harder for your body to metabolize glucose out of your blood. Aspartame and stevia were relatively benign. And then they went deep and they analyzed the microbiome and they showed there were differences in how these compounds affected the microbiomes. It turns out that Sucralose was more likely, for example, not being absorbed by your intestine. So we just did a clinical trial at Supercut
