The Ocean Isn't Safe
Marlin teaches Nemo that the ocean isn't safe. And if we think of the ocean as being symbolic of the divine feminine, it translates as there are scary aspects of the abject feminine. This for me brings the Egyptian concept of the chaotic waters of noon to mind. It's almost like the coral reef is the garden. Everything's perfect at first, everything's great, and then the serpent comes and it's like uh oh.
