The Perfect Fifth of A
When we play a note, we are also hearing its overtones at multiples of the fundamental frequency. These can get picked up and amplified elsewhere on the instrument. The perfect fifth falls right in the middle of this first b, and the next one up an octave higher. A note is built of more frequencies than just the note we play. But as we see, most of those frequencies are just the same note again.
