The Crusade of the Victoria

Ocano captained the second ship, the Victoria, which traveled west around Africa. The 31 crew members of the Victoria landed on the island in the Indian Ocean to purchase slaves. They had no money, so they offered clothes and return to have enough men to be able to man the mast and make the ship functional. 13 were thrown in prison; 18 left behind their shipmates and sailed straight for Spain. Years of sunburn and scurvy covered their bodies with boils. Their tongues were swollen, they could barely walk or speak.
