The Importance of Keeping a Dog Like a Pet
Every year we bring in $600 worth of straw and we line straw inside those kennels. Every one of those dogs sleeps out. We gave them access to the barn and the sheep can all just like pile on each other if they wanted to. If you want a pet, then treat it like a pet. But no, it's never going to do its job as a livestock guardian dog if you do that. And their fur is very insulative if they're acclimated with temperatures higher than ours. Their heaters are higher than ours but that's how many dogs need to be under the covers with us tonight.
