This idea from Game Theory of Win-Win Spencer has had a really deep impact on my life. I love this idea of trying to always find the win in the situation and if it's not a win for me, I feel good about walking away from it. It reminds me of something that's really useful in negotiations where you're working together to figure out how to optimize both of our value in the situation.
