We often say that men's friendships are shoulder to shoulder and women's are face to face. Men need oftentimes, what we refer to as the third object. Women feel comfortable looking at one another's eyes and sharing about our troubles. With men, because maintaining this appearance of self-sufficiency and strength is important, a lot of them are less likely to lead with sharing about their vulnerabilities.
