The Genesis Experiment - Touch Neurons
The Genesis experiment lasted 30 wonderful days and will return to how the technology works a bit later. But first, how do we actually feel the sensation of touch in the first place? Well, it's all a part of our somatosensory system, the neural network that allows us to feel. The initiation of our perception of a touch really begins with the activation of touch neurons whose endings are embedded within the fabric of our skin. Once activated, these neurons propagate electrical signals from the skin into the central nervous system.
