Keeping Traditions Meaningful

The older I've gotten, the more I've really come to appreciate traditions. How a tradition starts can be arbitrary in the greater scheme of the universe. And it's us as human beings deciding to make something meaningful by continuing to do it. It makes our own lives feel more significant by feeling tied to the echoes of history. The Oxford English Dictionary gives the earliest attestations from Britain in the 1830s defining it as "Christmas boxes"
